Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Science
Shane Madeya is our Lead Wellness Specialist, and has helped to transform the lives of numerous individuals and families in his time with LiveWell Health. He has been described as amazing, persistent, a friend, and caring from his current and past clientele. We are lucky to have Shane helping to lead our Wellness team.
There has always been a passion for health and wellness within Shane, which led him to his studies following high school. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Central Florida. Since graduation Shane has recently moved back to the beautiful southwest Florida area. Shane is excited to help the community utilizing his knowledge and experience gained throughout his education.
Shane’s two biggest motivations come from his tight knit family. His grandfather is currently living with Parkinson’s Disease, which is one of the many reasons he joined our team. He decided to pursue a field in health and wellness after what he had seen his grandfather experience. Shane hopes to use his expertise to not only help his grandfather towards a happier, healthier life, but also many individuals and families throughout southwest Florida. You will notice a sunflower tattoo on Shane’s forearm. This tattoo is to commemorate his mother, whom passed away before Shane received his degree. However, through it all, Shane remains positive and is excited to make an impact on many individuals’ lives. Shane’s passion is with him at all times.
“One of the greatest moments within my role is a client’s ultimate realization of the true power of exercise. Unfortunately, many are unaware of how life changing a consistent routine can be. The absolute best thing that comes from this job is seeing one of your clients who has doubts of what he or she can do. Only to completely surprise themselves just a few, short months later.
A client whom I work regularly with was in a bad car accident years ago that left him struggling, he could not efficiently move about his own home safely. Fast forward to today, now a few months into an exercise program he is able to walk up and down the stairs with weights in his hands efficiently while also doing so in a safe manner. He now believes in himself 100% again and is more driven than ever. His long term plan is to continue exercising consistently in order to live the most independent and healthy lifestyle possible.”
Helping older adults age stronger through evidence-based exercise, objective health assessments, and personalized coaching that improves strength, independence, and longevity.
